Installing new 56k modem

Hello

I have just installed a new 56k modem - Netcomm - in a computer
running Windows XP.

For some reason the drivers will not install. I have tried installing
direct from the Netcomm CD and by going to Control Panel and choosing
Add Modem. In both cases it is unsuccessful. Installation gets part of
the way and then I find I cannot go further - using the CD "Next" is
greyed out when the driver is selected and I can't go further. Using
the Control Panel option I get to the options "Install All Ports" &
"Install Selected Ports" and the next option is greyed out.

I have tried all 3 empty slots with the modem ( & tried two modems)
but still get the above errors.

I wondering if anyone might be able to help.

Thanks

Thanks for your posting. I have tried that but it still gets to the
same greyed out point & that's it, unfortunately.

I've seen this happen sometimes on a license agreement if you don't
scroll clear to the end. Also make sure there isn't a box you have to
check to accept the agreement. Sometimes it's easy to miss.

Once in a while the drivers (stupidly) have attributes set to hidden
on some of the files.
From windows explorer...try going to tools, folder options, view...
and allow viewing hidden files

If that does not work...go the the mfg's website and see if they have any
newer drivers
specifically for XP
