Installing multiple Burners

I currently have two CD drives installed on my Abit KG7
motherboard. One is a DVD-rom and the other is a Burner.
I would like to install a faster CD-RW.

The Motherboard has a second IDE cable connection.

Can I simply plug the IDE cable from the new burner into
this slot and configure it as the master on this second
channel?

Is there anything I need to do for XP-home to recognize?
 
You may need to get other burning software, which would support multiple
units. I do not think that XP's native burning system would recognise the
two units.
