Installing media player 10 in partition D

Is this possible? My C partition has less than 1 gig left on it. When trying
to burn cd's I get low disk space on C drive. I changed settings to use D
drive for temp files when burning cd's but that didn't help. The D partition
has over 140 gig left on it.
Is it possible to add more gig to the C partition?

Unfortunately, no version of Windows provides any way of changing the
existing partition structure of the drive nondestructively. The only way to
do what you want is with third-party software. Partition Magic is the
best-known such program, but there are freeware/shareware alternatives. One
such program is BootIt Next Generation. It's shareware, but comes with a
free 30-day trial, so you should be able to do what you want within that 30
days. I haven't used it myself (because I've never needed to use *any* such
program), but it comes highly recommended by several other MVPs here.

Whatever software you use, make sure you have a good backup before
beginning. Although there's no reason to expect a problem, things *can* go
wrong.

No. Windows Media Player must remain on the same
partition as Windows XP. If you are running out of
hard drive space, consider purchasing a larger hard drive.

I have a 200 gig hard drive. The c partition is almost full. The d partition
has over 140 gig left.

Back up, fully, do a clean install of windows, reset the
partitions sizes as desired, restore, and go. .

When you get to the partitions, just delete them both, then put
them back at different sizes so you have more room available.
It's pretty clear onthe screen when you get there. Just remember
you have to delete both partitions before you can make new,
different sized ones. You get to set the first partition, it'll
suggest what's left for the second partition, which sound slike
what you want.
