I have XP Pro operating system but when I purchased my
computer I did not get Office XP so I loaded my old
Windows 98 Office onto my computer. I now have purchased
Office XP Standard full version (not upgrade) and I don't
know if I can just load it and it will replace my older
versions of Word, Excel, Outlook, etc. or will it install
completely new versions leaving the old versions on my
hardrive. Will I lose anything in my old Outlook or Word
or other Windows programs?

Yeah, before you all rake on me, yes, you are right, this
is a stupid question but I don't know the answer.

First, Office was never part of any Windows! You either have Office 95, 97
or 2000, which you could have used in Windows 98.

If you install Office XP, then I believe that the Office Installer will
detect the previous version and will replace it with the XP version.

Y.
