Hi,

I have downloaded some fonts and want to install them onto
my Windows XP Pro. I coppied them into the
c:\windows\Fonts folder but they do not show up in
applications.

I looked it up and web sites say to go to the fonts folder
and and choose "File > Install Fonts" but I do not have
this option on my machine.

Help with this much appreciated

Thanks

Kev

The fonts folder is in Control Panel. Double click on it and go to file >
Install Fonts >then you need to brouse to where you downloaded the fonts.

Your Fonts folder has probably lost it's "System" property". This is
the only property that you cannot manipulate through the GUI
interface.

So...open a command prompt (Start|Run, type "cmd"), and type:

attrib +s \Windows\fonts

(Make sure to use the actual name of your Windows folder).

I download my fonts into a download special folder I created
called "Fonts". After that I go to Control Panel > Fonts
and File > Install New Font.
