Installing Exchange 2003 (Forestprep error)

I am trying to install/setup Exchange 2003 stand alone
server. Have a domain controller with AD working live and
works well. The moment I try to run the Forestprep I get
the error "The component Microsoft Exchange Forest
Preparation cannot be assigned the action Forestprep
because: etc
MS work around says have the Remote Registry Service
started, It is started on both machines and Forestprep
still cames back with this error.
No other error in the event log, where else can I look to
get past this problem.
Domainprep does not work it says Forestprep has not run
yet.
PS: Domain controler is W2K and SP4 installed and Exchange
2003 runs on W2003.

Have ouy checked exchange install log ? Is your Schema master server live
and accessible ? Try running schema upgrade on schema master.
