I currently have a dual boot XP system which can boot off either of 2 disk
drives. The first system was built from an XP SP1 disk to which was applied
a downloaded SP2. The second system was built with a XP SP2 disk. This
second system was built as a trial using an XP SP2 lic that is already
installed on another computer. Now that I understand (or at least I thought
I did) the dual boot installation process I now need to reinstall the second
system with a new license.

When I now attempt to boot the system from a DVD drive to install a new
system, the installation process proceeds normally to the point where you
are asked to Press F8 to agree to license terms. When I press F8 nothing
happens. The installation process just sits there doing nothing.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Check for a function lock (f-lock) on the keyboard?

Thanks the function key lock was the problem - Hadn't used a keyboard with
one before.
