Installing Component database on windows server 2003

Guyz,
I want to install "development tools" on Windows XP and "Component Database"
on windows server 2003 as shared repositories.
When I try to install database tools , it simply rolls back without any
error message. It copies all files, attach to SQLServer, and immidiately
fails after a fast message "creating public .... " .
SQLServer 2000 is already installed on the system and using mix mode.
Are there configuration issues or compatiblity issues with windows Server
2003 ?

Any idea ?
 
I'll be trying this myself, probably tomorrow. I'll let you know how it
goes.
 
It has nothing to do with Server 2003. Sounds like it's failing to
create the share for the repositories which aborts the entire install.
Check your permissions, etc... as to why it's not able to create the
share". If this is a non english build of server, create a group called
"everyone" and then try doing the install, then assign the correct
group to the share after setup is done. Check the google archives for
the history of this bug and the steps required.
