Installing a HP Photosmart 7260

I had the above printer installed then the I lost the link, I have
uninstalled the printer software and then reinstalled the drivers.

This has not added the printer icon in control panel, when I attemt to add a
printer
by clicking oin add printer the responce is " The printer spooler service is
not running"

Cna anyone help please?
