I am trying to install a new font onto one of my w2kpro machines.
When I select it and the install starts, I get a message saying it's already
in use.
It is not in use. It is a barcode font. I didn't have any problems with
any of my other machines
I have even rebooted.
I opened Excel and Word check to check to see if the font is there, but it
is not.

What do I need to do to fix this?

What this means is that the font is already installed. Likely at one time the installation was successful and since you did not see it in the applications you wanted to use the font with, you may have suspected the installation was unsuccessful. So find the font in the fonts folder (you made need to double-click the fonts until you find the right one). Then try installing again. If no error message and the font does not appear in the applications you want to use it with then I suspect the font is not usable in the applications you want to use it with.

Go to Start | Run | charmap | OK and see if you can find the font in there.
