installing 160 gb wd hard drive on win xp home

i image copied my master with power quest drive image 7 to
160 gb wd switched drive to master drive all files
apeared to copy, bios seems to recognize drive but when
system boots win xp logo appears then blue welcome screen
and os loading stops any recommendations

I think the "os loading stops any recommendations" problem is between the
keyboard and the chair !

Hard drives larger than 137Gb need the 48-bit LBA option in XP turned on
first. How you do it in your present condition - I don't know.
