Pat, if you have DI7 then you should also have DI2002. Have you tried
copying your master to the slave with DI2002? Boot from the disks that
DI2002 creates and do the copy with it. I also have DI7 but I usually just
image with DI2002 and the images have always restored just fine.

It is easy to forget to check of the boxes to make the new HDD
bootable and
include the copy of the MBR. Just a shot from my own failures.
