installer problem

after attempting to load some new broadband software i have a problem that
says my installer is still running.Any ideas on how to terminate it nothing
showing in task manager.

Reboot.

Was the software ESSENTIAL to use the broadband?
Many ISPs simply give you a package to make it 'easier' to setup.
Most of the time you can just connect up and go.
