After installing a program, such as "sun java j2re 1.4.2,
am I suppose to keep the programs own installer that it
used to install itself? Or can I delete it because it
will not be needed again? TIA

Once a program is installed, you do not need to hang on to the installer.
If download speeds and times are a concern, you might want to copy it to CD
in case you ever have to reinstall it.
