Installer Data Execution -- Avanquest Fix-It

A

angbob

Using XP SP3
Windows Installer - Unicode Version 4.5.6001.22159
My machine lacks hardware data-execution detection.

It seems Installer is trying to execute data.

While installing Avanquest Fix-It Version 9, I get a "Data Execution
Prevention" message.
Name: Windows Installer
Publisher: Microsoft Corporation

This happens very near the end of installation. There are 0 seconds
remaining, and a window appears claiming the installation was successful.

Although the Data Execution Prevention window names Windows Installer, is it
possible that it is not Installer, but the installed application, that is
trying to execute data?

Regards, Bob

DEP protects your computer from buffer overflow conditions usually
caused by malware. Any chance your computer or the installer is infected?
