Installed XP Home on Windows 98. Now both are on the hard
drive, taking alot of space on an old small hard drive.
Can I reinstall XP and eliminate 98? XP has not been
activated yet. Thanks for any help. Jim

reinstall doing a clean boot this means you will erase
every thing on the hard drive if you do this back up any
files you need on disk and install back after the install
of new os you will get this option near the begining of
installation

Whether it's been activated doesn't matter. You can certainly do
a clean reinstallation. Just boot from the CD and follow the
prompts. You will off course lose all installed apps and any data
you've saved.
