Installed SP2 on both machines, no problems.

I downloaded the IT version two days ago, but didn't want to inherit a
lot of problems, so I installed it on my wifes machine first. Same PCchips
MoBo, 1200mz athlon w 512 ram, 1200mz Duron w 256 ram. Both running what
USED to be XP Pro (expect a logo patch shortly).

No problems in the initial install, backup, cleanup, whatever. Maybe 30
minutes or less on each machine. Took a few moments to turn off the
firewall, and the notification icon, and except for the status tool bar not
showing, or staying , in windows explorer (I live in there), nothing seems
changed. I even ran a 3D benchmark and no difference. No network or
connection problems at all. Of course this is all in the last two hours,
so I may have something to report at a later date, but it seems to be just
like it should be.

Nice guy, running it on your wife's computer first. I did the same thing.
Same results. All is well so far.

SP2 takes much longer to install on machines with slower hard drives, like
portables and laptops. Smooth install and no problems so far after a day.
One interesting thing was when Norton AV updated itself after the SP2
install, the Microsoft Security Center security alert screen recognized that
an AV program was installed. Not the same case with Sygate's software
firewall which I prefer over XP's. Not detected so the Microsoft security
alert says firewall is off.

I love it. I will definitely implement this idea in maintaining my home
network!

The distinction on the splash screen between different variants has been
dropped. It was getting confusing, what with Tablet and MCE machines
