Using Windows Explorer or My Computer, open the following two
folders where YOURACCOUNT represents the name you have assigned
to your user account:

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs

C:\Documents and Settings\YOURACCOUNT\Start Menu\Programs

Move the shortcut for Telechart 2005 from the first folder into
the second folder. The result should be that it only shows up
on the Start Menu for your account.

Follow the same procedure to move a desktop icon in these two
folders:

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Desktop

C:\Documents and Settings\YOURACCOUNT\Desktop

Good luck

Nepatsfan,
Thanks for your help, your idea worked.

I have another situation that also happens. When the kids log in they get a
text message that opens up in a notepad window: I tried to copy it but it
did'nt work so i will type it out..
"[.Shellclassinfo]
LocalisedResourceName=@%SystemRoot%\stsem32\shell32.dll,-21787"
any advice on what it means and can i stop it from opening on their accounts.
Thanks,

Notepad Starts With "[.ShellClassInfo]

Malke,
I followed the instructions under the Microsoft problem post, however I
could not find the desktop.ini file under "all users" in the three areas they
suggest.
I have five(5) different logins with one for each family member, when i went
into their individual settings I found the desktop.ini file and right clicked
and deleted it.
However, when I later logged into their accounts it still opens up in
notepad with the same message.
Can you advise further?

Sounds like you don't have the option to view hidden files checked in
the other user accounts. You have to do this for each individual
account.

Make sure you are able to see all hidden files and extensions (View tab
in Folder Options). In XP, there are four checkboxes to deal with:

a. Check "Display the contents of system folders".
b. Check "Show hidden files and folders".
c. Uncheck "Hide extensions for known file types".
d. Uncheck "Hide protected operating system files" and click "OK" to the
dialog box.

Malke

Malke,
Thanks a lot, you were right on.
The Article Q330132 from Microsoft only said to clear two check boxes.
