While installing win2000, at the screen that says it is installing
keyboards/mice, it states the screen may flicker. But about halfway
through, my screen goes blank and stays that way. But the whole time
you can hear the files being copied, and the disk running. Any
suggestions?

Disconnect all unnecessary external hardware. The ONLY external
hardware that should be connected while you install Windows is the
keyboard, mouse and monitor.
