Installation Scripts

Recently, every time I try to install an application software, I get an
error about missing a script, I believe it is error 1628 about an
installation script missing. Or a *.msi file is missing.

My bigger problem is I have a Dell machine with the OS pre-installed. Since
receiving the machine the drive has been partitioned. If I call Dell all
they will do is tell me to re-install the OS, which would be quite a task to
get the machine re-configured back to where I am.

Any suggestions????

Offhand I don't know the problem but you can go to Http://www.eventid.net to
see if helpful information is found on a particular Event ID. It shows
nothing for Event ID 1628 so be sure to double check if that is the right
number or not. If this happens with only one application then there could be
a problem with the software package or installation disk. If this happens
for numerous software packages then something more may be going on. ---
