Installation problems

My computer kept restarting itself repeatedly when i turned it on so i
thought i would re-install windows xp. I put the cd in and when it got
to the insert code i inserted the code that is on a sticker on the back
of my computer but it says that the code is incorrect :\
Does anyone know where i can get the correct code, or if there is any
way i can get my computer to work again ?

now, have you checked that your serial is for the version of windows you are
trying to install?
not all windows xp releases suport the same serial numbers
try the original cd, or if that is the original cd, try the serial again,
more carefully this time

isnt there a code number on your cd packet?
