Installation of Windows Xp Pro 64Bit edition

Can anyone help me

I am trying to install Windows Xp Pro 64Bit trial edition on my AMD ATHLON 64 system but am having problems

When I initially boot I am unable to install my VIA SATA Controller driver as the windows set-up is reporting that the files are corrupt on my floppy disk. However I have tried several disks and tried the disks on other systems and they work fine, although not necessarily with Windows Xp 64bit edition. I have downloaded the latest drivers for my VIA SATA controller but this hasn't helped

Any assistance would be much appreciated.
 
Currently your 64-bit copy might only work with Itanium
Systems. Although there is a AMD64 version (64-bit
extended) in the works, it has not been released as of
this reply.

Acutally what I meant that it is not "gold" yet (RTM).
Whenever I mention that something has not been released
yet, it means that it has not yet been Released To
Manufacturing (RTM) or in "Gold" stage.

The reason you're getting the files are corrupt message is because the SATA drivers you're trying to use are for 32bit systems. Check your motherboard manufacture’s website for 64bit SATA drivers. Most companies have released the drivers as BETA so be aware of that. Or you can use the VIA drivers
