Installation of Upgrade '97

When I go to install my prior copy of Access '97 Upgrade,
it's not recognizing my Office 2002 applications as valid
applications for an install. Any ideas?

If you are trying to install an Upgrade Version of Access 97, you will need
to own and have available the media for a version of Access/Office that is
*older* than Access 97 (such as Access/Office 95 or Access 2.0).

It says that as long as you have Word '97 or Excel '97 you
can install the upgrade - I don't have those anymore (I
have the disk for those), but I do have Windows 2002 Word,
Excel, Outlook. Would seem like I could still use the
upgrade unless I need to reinstall the old versions.

ummm... why should - and how COULD - a program released in 1997 have
been designed to accept a program released five years LATER as a prior
version?
