Hi,
Not sure this is the correct newsgroup for this, otherwise I am sure I'll be
directed to the right one.
I have a P4 2.8 box with XP SP3. I am attempting to install an LG HD/BD DVD
and BIOS so far does not see it. Yet in My Computer it can be seen. I have
installed a Rosewill RC212 SATA card as well as my on-board SATA ports are
now taken.
In addition, my other DVD-ROM is no longer seen either in BIOS or My
Computer for that matter. Any help on this will be greatly appreciated. Thank
you.

Your Optical hosted on the Rosewill card won't appear in the PC's Bios.
It would appear in the Add-in card's setup/configuration utility. ( Usually
the card itself will have a POST or detect screen as the computer boots ).
Installing the secondary optical should have any direct impact on the one
hosted by the motherboard SATA controllers. SATA cables are subject
to being dislodged pretty easily. I would check that the original optical
drive's cable is snuggly connected on each end of the cable. Personally,
I use locking SATA cables and for Optical drives an "L" shaped end that
retains it's connection better.

Mystery solved, the PATA had to be set as Master................I did
everything but that one! Yikes! Anyway.........

Thanks for letting us know you got things squared away. Amazing
isn't it how simple things like that get overlooked.
