Serial ATA HD install

After prepping the Serial ATA (SATA) HD for win XP
install, and booting to the CD for installation, the
computer will not subsequently boot to the HD - no device
(BIOS) is installed to drive the SATA HD.

using:
Win XP OEM
ASUS P4C800 Deluxe motherboard
SeaGate Serial ATA 120GB HD

I have seen references to WIN XP OEM not allowing this
installation to function normally.
Suggestions to work around?

My similar motherboard has a BIOS option to boot from the SATA drive. Check
yours.

I've browsed the BIOS options to death, but can't find one
that designates a Bootable ROM media.
The HD shows up in the BIOS profiles, but the board seems
to fail to load up some kind of software that allows it to
be recognized. Of course, the board manufacturer has no
solutions, nor does the HD manufacturer (ASUS and SeaGate,
respectively).

Any other suggestions?

are you booting to the xp cd and pressing f6 and

inserting the sata/raid drivers disk and then s ?

Put the drivers on a floppy and load them when asked to
by XP F6

or install the boot drive back on the IDE cable, boot up
install the SATA drivers, reboot and change the drive
back on the SATA card and you'll be good to go.
