Installation of DVD RW

Iv'e just bought a DVD RW from Dabs.com
its an NEC-DVD+-R/RW 8x nd-2500a
but anyway....
I've installed it into my PC but in 'My computer' it seems to be only
registering it as a CD Drive/Rewriter not a DVD Rewriter.
I really need some help
Some programs like Nero register this drive, but others act like it doesn't
exist. for example 'burn dvd'
Any ideas?

If it works and writes to a dvd disk,then you really dont have a
problem.You can open device mgr,expand the tree for the device,
properties,see if all is ok.You could/can after you expand,R.click the
device,select,uninstall,close-out,shutdown computer.XP will reinstall
