installation of database fails

Hello,

I'm trying to set up an XP embedded development environment on my
windows XP SP2.

The tools and database engine are installed. When installing the
database I got the an error "Seup has detected that other applications
are currently using the component database. You should close all
applications which are using the database before continuing."

The error occurs when the installation gots to the point of "Setting
value for 'cmiRepRootPath'".

After closing the error window the rollback starts.

I've got an English version so the "Everyone" group should exist

When I look in the eventviewer I got 3 error messages:

Has anyone got an idea how to solve this?

Bruyninx,

First thing comes to my mind. Make sure you got the latest WSH (5.6) installed on your dev machine. You can download it from here:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...43-7E4B-4622-86EB-95A22B832CAA&displaylang=en

I assume you installed MSDE first.
