installation microsoft.net 3.0

I've tried in vain to install microsoft.net 3.0. Downloading went fine, but
after beginning to install, I've got an error message. I have windows Xp home
edition, service pack 2.

It helps to turn off your antivirus program while installing .NET Framework
and any updates for it. If the installation partially completed you may need
to download and run the Windows Installer Cleanup utility from here :

When you run the utility look for an entry for .NET Framework 3.0 and delete
it, if present. Then attempt your installation again.
