Installation Freezing

Hi,

I've downloaded the 32 bit version of the public beta and written it to DVD.
After restart and booting from the DVD the setup starts and I select my
country and language. Then it asks me to enter my serial number which I do
and press next at which point it freezes.

The computer runs hot and nothing happends (although the mouse still moves
but cannot click anything). I've tried it with two different serial numbers
and also with the automatic activiation option turned on and off. None of
that helps. The only option is to turn the laptop off and start again.

Can anyone tell me why this is happening and what I can do to stop it. I
intend to install vista as a dual boot with XP on my d partition.

Same Problem here, my first problem on my first download was giving an error
message after i put the serial number (old download size was 600 MB), second
download size is 3.12 GB and getting same problem partial freezing.

Any solutions anyone please.....

So just to recap,

no one knows what to do about this apparently very serious problem with the
public release of Vista??? I find that very strang, could I at least get
someones best guess at what could be causing it and what I can do to get
around the problem.
