Installation Freeze

I am trying to install Vista Business on a Tyan Tiger MPX based system with
2GB main memory, 2 Athlon MP 2000+ processors, and a Highpoint rr-2210
controller.

I have run the vista tool and it passes compatability with the HighPoint
Vista driver for the controller. However after the first reboot in the
installation the system freezes. I have tried a fresh install and an upgrade
install. Also I have read through the install thread and tried those that
seem to apply.

Any suggestions?

Have you disconnected all peripherals, printers, scanners, external modem,
external hard drive, card readers, etc. If yes, you might need to remove
some internal devices, bringing the system to as bare a setup as possible
while still allowing it to boot.

Another possibility might be if you have fancy keyboard or mouse. If you're
using some high end keyboard or mouse, if you have access to something very
basic and generic, try using those instead, just to get Vista installed. If
you are successful, add devices back one by one, watching after each
installation to be sure the system doesn't choke or otherwise crash with the
addition of the device.
