Installation error when installing .net 3.5

It would be very helpful if somebody provides solution for my problem. My
system is already having .net 3.0 . I am trying to install .net 3.5. I am
getting error

[09/28/08,22:34:03] XPSEPSC Installer: [2] Error code 1603 for this
component means "Fatal error during installation."
[09/28/08,22:34:03] XPSEPSC Installer: [2] Setup Failed on component
XPSEPSC Installer.
[09/28/08,22:34:03] wapUI : [2] Depcheck indicates XPSEPSC Installer is not
installed

XPSEPSC Installer is supposed to install automatically if we download and
install .net 3.0 SP1. That's why I uninstalled .net 3.0. Now it is not
visible in the control panel. When I tried to install .net 3.0 SP1,

"This product is already installed on this machine. To change or uninstall
this prouct, please use 'Add Remove Programs' applet from control panel"

Now I cannot install either .net 3.0 or .net 3.5

Please provide me a good solution

Thanks

For one possible solution, look at section 2.1.12 in the following link:

I already tried this link. Do I need to clear any registry entry to install
..net 3.0/3.5?
