Installation corrupted

I attempted installing Sony's PictureGear program that came with a digital
camera but the installation went sour. Attempting to run the program causes
a Windows Error saying that the program has caused something and must be
closed (or words to that effect). Control Panel|Add or Remove Programs only
causes the blue band to flash once, but nothing more happens. Attempting a
re-installation from the CD shows the initial menu to install a camera
driver, to install PictureGear, or exit. Clicking Install PictureGear causes
a familiar InstallShield window announcing the intent to install PictureGear
2.0. Then a window pops up asking if ..."do you really want to uninstall
PictureGear and all its components?" Finally and very quickly, another
window pops announcing that all maintenance has been performed. My guess is
that the installation program looks for a file that it interprets as meaning
PictureGear is already installed and, clearly, the user wants to uninstall
the application. I have cleaned the Registry of every instance of
"PictureGear", but perhaps the key file is there, but I have no way of
knowing how to delete it so I can attempt a clean installation. BTW,
PictureGear was successfully installed on computer #3. Any ideas? I would
really appreciate any useful suggestions.
