Installation cd

I am trying to install MS Visual Basic.net I keep getting
a message stating to put the installation cd in. I never
got one with my pc and A substitute cd did not work What
else should I try for my windows 2000 pro pc
 
Do you mean the Windows 2000 CD-ROM installation media or do you mean the Windows Update Components installation media. That (the later) has to be installed first.
