Me again

Hi, my Son`s hard drive has given up the ghost, and all
the information - including Packard Bells version of
Windows XP - has been lost. I am now looking at
purchasing a new version of XP to install into the new
hard drive of his PC. My PC has the oem version of XP
installed. When I buy the FULL version of XP for his
computer, will I be able to use it on any PC I own - if
for example I build a new PC or MY computer self
destructs ( this is the second time in 7 years ). I am a
little unsure as to the full meaning of the XP licence,
and would appreciate clarification on the matter.
Thanks in advance - hopefully
Paul

Each installation of Windows XP, installed on a different computer,
requires it's own unique Product Key (license). Therefore, you'll need
to purchase a copy of Windows XP for each installation on a different
computer, otherwise you'll be prevented from activating.

Go to Start >Run box type: WINVER , and hit enter. Then click on the
"End-User License Agreement" and read it. Your answer
lies in that agreement.

You can also open XP's "Help and Support" and type: EULA
and hit enter. Click on "Questions and answers about the EULA".

Microsoft do two versions of XP, an upgrade and an OEM
version, the OEM version is for installation on new PC's,
the bonus is that if you add new hardware to your pc (eg:
Memory)then this allows you to use the OEM version for the
installation which is generally cheaper than the upgrade
version.
