I've bought a laptop and i have a licence for one windows xp. now i'd
like to format the os (to clean the system) but i don't have the cd of
windows xp. Can I borrow a winxp cd from a friend and install it on my
system? I think it isn't bad because i have the licence mark on the
laptop...

Yes, you can, provided that the licence number on your
laptop is for the same flavour of WinXP as your friend's
CD. AFAIK, the only way to test this is to commence an
actual installation.

If you can find a Generic OEM installation of the same Windows XP
(Home/Pro/etc) as the one indicated on the CD Key sticker on the laptop - it
*may* work.
