Install Second HD

In trying to install a Western Digital 160GB HD, I got an
error message stating that the installation of any HD
over 137GB required my system to be 48-bit LBA
compliant. I have a Dell Dimensions 8300 system using XP
SP1. Is this compatibility with XP or is it an issue
with Dell? How do I find out and What can I do to
install the drive and get full use of its capability?

XP SP1 is compatible with the hard drive (upto 250GB or greater)

You need to check with Dell so as to see if the computer motherboard BIOS
can do 48Bit LBA. If not, then you will need to buy a PCI IDE controller
card.
