install problem

Last night I install xp on my desktop pc (it had
previously been installed on my laptop but the laptop is
no longer functional so it is junked). After the
installation, I am unable to activate it because xp says
that my product code has been activated before. Is there
a way around this? Help will be appreciated.

Hi

You will have to contact MS and explain what has happened - i.e. 'junked' laptop - they may be able to help you - unless it is an OEM version of XP.
