I first attempted to install windows xp pro on my girl
friends HP. I recently gave it a new hard drive and
choose to install windows xp pro from my ex dell
computer's set of software. Installation went fine the
system rebooted, but rather then going into windows for
the setup it went right back to the install. So I thought
well maybe this version will only work on Dell's (as it
did state that on the CD). Anyway I got an original
windows xp pro disk and restarted the system it went into
the install just as before then rebooted and right back
into the install. Also I did delete and create a new
partition several different times during the installs.
