I attempted to install a Win XP Home edition upgrade and
during the compatibility procedure received a message that
I could not upgrade because I have more than one operating
system. I did an explore and discovered a Windows folder
and a Winnt folder which I assume is where the problem
lies. Is is possible to move the Winnt files into the
Windows folder without creating a major mess or can I
simply remove the Winnt folder?

If I were you, I would perform a backup of my files, then prepare
to perform a "clean install".
