Install M$ Office 2003

Hi
I have microsoft office 2000 premium on my pc and am going to install
2003 pro.
Will 2003 install and update without having to remove 2000?

I read somewhere that 2003 will install outlook as default email
client - Will i be able to re-establish Agent, my preferred
email/newsreader?

When you upgrade Office, it will mimic the Setup options of the
existing installation. It isn't necessary to remove the older version
of Office. However, if you want to customize the installed features
then you'll need to select a Custom install when you upgrade.
This will allow you to omit Outlook from the upgrade process.

Hi

You can install Office 2003 when Office 2000 Premium is still installed.
I've performed that task several times without any problems. You may have
to re-enable Agent as your default email/newsreader, although with the
Custom setup you may be able to uncheck Outlook before installing it. What
effect that may have on the installation, I don't know.

You can install Outlook, but still select to keep Agent as
your default email. Outlook will ask if you want to set it
as your default, say no and check the box so it doesn't ask
again.

Yes, Office 2003 will remove the older version of Office automatically,
preserving and translating most of it's configuration settings.

Microsoft Outlook is a part of the Office suite, but you don't have to
install it, if you don't want to. Simply perform a custom installation
and remove Outlook from the list of applications to be installed.
