Install Home Basic from Ultimate DVD

I have the Ultimate Upgrade DVD. My product key is for Ultimate only.

Is there a way to install Vi$ta at Home Basic mode using the best
version DVD?

You can install without using a product key. You then are given a choice of
which version to install.
You can then use the new install of which ever version you installed for 30
days before you have to activate it. After 30 days, you can purchase a key
to validate your installed copy and continue to use it, unless it is the
same version that you purchased, then all you have to do is activate it
(first entering in the product key), assuming that it is not already
installed on another computer.

30 days is good enough. But it seems even if you choose Home Basic
during installation, it still installed Ultimate....

Do not enter a product key if you want to have the option of installing a
version other than the purchased version.
