Install Fatal exception errors-XP Pro

Win 98se. 120gb WD drive. 512 ram. 1.88g processor. NO Anti Virus programs
installed.

I'm trying to install Retail XP Pro with Service pack 2 as a "New Install"
rather than an upgrade. It seems to go through about 10-15 minutes of install
then I get these errors.
1. Fatal exception occured at 00E8:000080D2.
2. Fatal exception occured at 0157:000075A2.
After restart, If I boot from CD, I get these error messages--
1. Blue Setup page gives me -Unexpected error (0) occured at line 1773 in
D:\xpsprtm\boot\setup\arcdisp.c.
2. Blue Setup page freezes.
Now what.

You must be installing in windows explorer...Try installing xp cd,boot to
xp cd,select install xp,new copy,delete the partition (Win 98),create
one,then
xp formats & installs auto....Good choice to do "new" or clean install.

I have 98se running, then insert XP cd, then choose install. It starts ok then
I get the errors:
1. Blue Setup page gives me -"Unexpected error (0) occured at line 1773 in
D:\xpsprtm\boot\setup\arcdisp.c." and/or
2. Blue Setup page freezes.
Ram tests fine. When I restart it gives me the choice of canceling XP setup
or run 98se.
 
Well, I don't know what to do now. If someone can tell me what this error
means I might be able to install XP.
"Fatal exception occured at 00E8:000080D2". Install goes fine, until it
starts to restart then this meaasge. I reboot "press any key to start from
cd" and then get the following blue Setup page gives me -"Unexpected error
(0) occured at line 1773 in D:\xpsprtm\boot\setup\arcdisp.c".

Ram tests fine. No exclaimation marks on any device in system. All drivers
up to date. 98se runs fine. Remember, this is a "New Install" not "upgrade"
off of the CD.
