Install doesn't work

I recently tried a trial version of Norton Antivirus 2004. When I
uninstalled the package, my problems began. I can no longer install
anything. Things get half installed or not installed at all. I tried to look
for msi.exe for XP buy have not been able to find it.

In addition I can no longer connect to my work VPN. When I try to create a
new conncetion, the VPN selection is grayed out. I have tried to manually
strart all of the remote access functions buy have been unable to.

I have re-installed XP twice but no change.

Is my only option now to re-format and strart over?

Hi...

The only thing I can suggest is - if, for some reason,
Norton AV 2004 did NOT uninstall properly (or even if you
think that might be the case), go to www.symantec.com and
find the small download to run via "HOW TO MANUALLY
UNINSTALL NORTON AV 2004". Then see how things are.

Have you tried dropping back to a restore point prior to your connection
problem ? It would have been wise to have created a restore point prior to
installing Norton - and wise to create one b4 each succesful app.
installation fro obvious reasons.
