install blocked

I installed XP home upgrade, never registered, then
uninstalled it. Now when I tried to install it again, I
get the message that there is a blocking issue; there are
other operating systems that will not allow me to
install. I do have Windows 98 installed. I get the
feeling that when I uninstalled the first time, something
was put in to block me doing it again. Any help is
appreciated.
 
There's no blocking device and registering the product has no effect. What
is the exact problem your having and the exact error message?
Could be you have an oem version of xp and these versions cannot do upgrade
installs. They only do format and clean installs.
