I recently purchased a floppy from Fry's and got a cable with it and plugged it in. No dice yet. The computer doesn't see it, what haven't I done yet to install it.

you might need to rotate one of the cable connecters 180 degrees at its connection

most floppy drives are not keyed for the cable.

Yeah, been through that myself and I might add to make sure that red stripe
on the (gray) floppy cable aligns with pin 1 on the MB (look closely at the
MB or the manual), as some floppy drive cables are not keyed on either end.
If the cable is keyed, and it's inserted in the MB correctly, you probably
have to flip the cable over on the floppy. Also, if you can't flip the cable
on the floppy 'cause the key won't fit, look closely at the drive, you
should be able to remove a break away notch so the cable fits.
