Instaling 2nd hard drive once windows is set up

Have set up win media centre on a new system and dont know how to format the
2nd drive as it is not visible in "my computer" but is visable in " device
manager"
can anyon help

Right click on My Computer and select Manage. On the following screen,
click on Disk Management. The drive will appear on the right hand side of
the screen from where you can partition it (even if you want a single
partition, you still have to partition it) and then format it. Once you
have formatted it, you can assign it a drive letter. No version of Windows
can 'see' an unformatted drive in Windows Explorer.

Thats fine,however the mvp missed a important matter,once formatted,and
letter asigned,with the drive highlited,or L.click on it,go to
actions,all,select,
make active.You should then close-out,R.click my
computer,properties,advanced,
advanced settings,virtual memory,settings,click on the change
button,L.click the
new drive,select "let windows manage",then click set 2X,do this for all
drives,
then close out.This gives the page file to the new drive,plus increases
memory.
