Inserting Rows

Sean

Hello.

Just recently, when I go to insert rows, I get an error
message of "To prevent possible loss of data, Microsoft
Excel cannot shift nonblank cells off of the worksheet"
I have been doing this for three years up until now. Any
ideas?

Thanks!
Sean

Check your formating. If you have any borders or lines
that stretch all the way to the bottom, (all 65,000
rows...) or all the way to the right, (to column IV,) then
the lines will not shift because there is something in the
cell. This happens when you select an entire column or row
and then add a border.
Good Luck!

Maybe you have data (or junk) in the last row.
Go to A1 (Ctrl+home); use Shift+Ctrl+End to highlight the used area of the
worksheet.
Does it go down to the bottom?

If it an old long worksheet there maybe rows towards the
bottom with data of formatting. If that is the case try
deleting rows from the bottom of your spreadsheet even if
you think there is no data.

Hope this helps
Judith
