Inserting Photos (.jpg)

When I import a jpg photo taken with my Sony Mavica-CD camera into a slide it is very very large. I then have to grab the corner and reduce the size several times to get it to fit standard PowerPoint slide size, more or less 8"x11". My old Sony Mavica with floppy would insert photos with a perfect fit. Any suggestions?

Is there a way to change the size and resolution of
image on your Sony? Obviously that's the fastest
way. However, if you can't do that, you should use
an image editing program such as Photoshop or
Microsoft Photo Editor to resize the photos before
importing them into PPT. In any case, it's better
to process the photos BEFORE bringing them into
PPT. Otherwise, you may end up with a
gargantuan presentation file size...

If you would like PPT to scale the photo to the size of the slide and fill
the it completely, choose background>fill effects>picture tab>choose the
picture and insert. Be sure to check the box to keep the aspect ratio the
same. This method can also be used to fill any shape, like a rectangle on
your slide.
