Wow, I don't know. I can tell you that I can insert MP3 and WAV files just
fine here on 32-bit Win 7 with 32-bit Office 2010. (I have 2003 also
installed on this system.) I haven't noticed any others reporting issues
with MP3s and WAVs.
I'll ask on the beta goups if there are any known issues with sound files.
You're using Insert | Audio | Audio from File? Midi are generated
differently than MP3 and WAV, so I guess it doesn't surprise me that they
work, even though the others don't.
I can't even think what to do to fix it other than maybe reinstalling
Windows Media Player (to make sure you've got all the necessary codecs and
stuff).

Cannot insert mp3 or wave. Turned off my Virus program and Zone Alarm,
still no go.
The program hangs (Presentation1 - Microsoft PowerPoint (program not
responding)
Then it sends the error to Microsoft ? If I had a way to copy the error
report it I would include it.
I have tried a lot of different mp3 files they all do the same.
midi files work OK.

I have Windows XP installed with Microsoft Office 2003. Installed Office
2010 beta 32 bit and it removed Office 2003.
Power point 2010 works OK but won't let me insert mp3, wave music files
? OK with midi files ?
Does anyone have a fix for this? I have run the repair Office 2010 and
it still won't work with mp3 files.
