Inserting MP3 Files

I created a training presentation in PowerPoint 2003 that
includes voice-over narrations. I inserted the sound
files by choosing "Insert Movies and Sound" and then
selected the appropriate MP3 file to insert. When I do
this, I have to have the sound file in the same folder as
my PowerPoint presentation in order for the sound to play
properly. Is there a way I can take these pre-recorded
voice over files in MP3 format and insert them into the
PowerPoint file in such a way that I do not have to have
external sound files in the same folder as the
presentation? My goal is to give the user a single
PowerPoint file without any other external files. I see
that if I record the voice-overs myself by
using "Insert/Record Sound" there are no additional files
required -- just the PowerPoint. I am happy that somehow
I can embed the sound files into the PowerPoint, thus
negating the need to have the external files. By the way,
though I am creating this in PowerPoint 2003, the users
will be using PowerPoint 2000 to view and listen to the
presentation. Thanks.

MP3s are always linked and therefore must be sent along with the presentation
file. WAV's can be embedded, but a sound file in WAV format will be 10 times as
large as the same sound in MP3 format. That's the trade-off, which is
significant if you're talking about sending via email.
